How to Consign.

We currently take consignments on a first-come, first-served basis during opening hours on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. We will accept until we reach our daily capacity. After that, we will continue to accept only luxury items, Jam’s World, and high-end men's aloha.

You may bring up to 15 items to each drop off. 

Items must be neatly folded in a shopping bag, bin, or box.
Do not bring trash bags or hangers.

We will go through while you wait (perfect time to shop!) to see what we think will sell. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • "Can it pass for new?"

  • Modern, current styles (last 3-5 years) in new and excellent used condition.

  • Mid- to high-range brands, clean and free of wear, odors, stains, alterations, tears or holes; labels must be intact.

  • We do not do vintage.

Apparel

  • Women's Clothing

  • Casual & Professional Attire (no suits)

  • Athletic Apparel/Lounge Wear

  • Aloha wear

  • Men's golf, aloha, luxury active wear, shoes

Handbags

  • Must be in pristine condition.

  • We cannot accept peeling material, excessive wear, broken hardware, stains or scuffs.

  • High end designer handbags must be able to be authenticated. We cannot sell knock-offs. It’s actually illegal.

Shoes

  • Shoes need to be in pristine condition; no creases, peeling, scuffs, odors, etc. High heels aren’t selling these days. Sneakers, sandals, and boots are best-sellers.

Jewelry/Accessories

  • Quality and good costume jewelry in excellent condition.

  • Accessories in excellent condition.

  • We cannot accept broken, tarnished, or 'cheap' jewelry.

Home Decor

  • Small furniture accepted as space allows, please call ahead, stop in or email about your furniture pieces.

  • Glassware, dishes, art, and unusual items accepted on a very select basis.

Books

  • We can accept good quality books of popular fiction and non-fiction.

We are unable to accept:

  • Children's

  • Polyester

  • Personal monograms or souvenir items

  • Event branded or custom-embroidered items

  • Gift-with-purchase bags

  • Undergarments or socks (unless new with tags/packaging)

  • Appliances, electronics, CDs, or DVDs

  • Replica/fake designer handbags

  • Suits/Suiting

  • Wedding gowns/bridesmaid gowns/formals

A note on budget brands: Many of the brands listed below are inexpensive to buy brand new. Reselling them, even in gently used condition does not represent the quality our customers expect.

Basic Edition, Xhiliration, Merona, Jaclyn Smyth, George, Lee, Riders, Kirkland, Faded Glory, No Boundaries, White Stag, St. John's Bay, Sag Harbor, Shein, Croft & Barrow, Sonoma, Lei, Mudd, Gloria Vanderbilt, etc.

PREP FOR DROP OFF

  • Items must be new or in excellent, pre-owned condition, neatly folded in shopping bags or boxes. No trash bags.

  • Freshly laundered. Please no harsh perfumes. Do not use scent boosters. Be careful of mildew smells.

  • Minor wrinkles are ok. Don't worry about steaming or pressing unless the wrinkles are severe.

  • Household items & handbags must be clean.

  • All brand name and size tags must be intact.

  • No discoloration or fading.

  • No pulls, tears, pilling, alterations, missing or loose buttons, or broken zippers.

  • No worn out elastic.

  • No odors (strong detergent, perfume, musty, moth ball, smoke, etc.)

  • No pet hair.

 AFTER IT SELLS

  • Consignors receive 35% of the final selling price.

  • For luxury items priced over $200, consignors receive 50% of the final selling price.

  • Consignors may use their account earnings for in-store purchases at any time.

  • Consignors may request payments at any time. We can pay by cash (if we have enough in the store at the time), venmo or electronic check serevice.

  • Account earnings not claimed within 365 days of last account activity may be donated to local charitable organizations.

  • Selling on consignment means the consignor (you) brings in items to be sold and Fashion Consignment handles all the rest. When the item sells, the consignor earns a percentage of the selling price without the hassle of selling their items themselves. No answering buyer’s questions, arranging pick-ups or running to the post office to ship items. It’s a great solution for those who just want to clear out their closets and make some money in the process!

  • We’ve worked really hard to overhaul the standard consignment process to make it easy and profitable for our consignors. 

    Highlights: 

    • We strive to process our consignor’s goods immediately after they are dropped off. We only accept as much as we can process quickly so our consignors can start making money as soon as the following day. 

    • Your items don’t expire. We attempt to sell them for a full 60 days before we automatically move items through the clearance process. No need to keep track of dates and rush back to the store to pick up “expired” items. 

    • Your items remain your property and nothing is forfeited to our store. You will earn your percentage if your goods sell -- no matter what. Full price or clearance sale, your cut is your cut. ($$$)

    • We accept all seasons at all times. Yep, we’ll take a jacket in July and store it until the appropriate season.

  • We accept women's and men's designer, luxury and name-brand clothing items, shoes, handbags, accessories, and home decor in new or excellent condition. We accept all seasons, at all times.

  • Fashion Consignment strives to offer only name-brand, designer and luxury items in new or excellent condition. The guidelines below are not exhaustive but serve as a guideline for the types of brands we look for. 

    Brand Guidelines:  We love Anthropologie, AG, Birkenstock, Boden, Brahmin, Burberry, Coach, Columbia, Doc Martin, Dooney & Bourke, Eloquii, Free People, Frye, Good American, Gucci, Hoka, Jam's World, J.Jill, J Crew, Joes, Johnny Was, Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, LL Bean, LOFT, LoveShackFancy, Louis Vuitton, Lululemon, Madewell, Manaola, Michael Kors, Nike, The North Face, Olukai, Patagonia, Patricia Nash, Prada, Rothys, Sig Zane, SPELL, Spiritual Gangster, Sundance, Tieks, Ted Baker, The North Face, Tommy Bahama, Tory Burch, Talbots, Vuori, and MORE! 

    Fashion Consignment does not accept brands from Walmart or Target as well as factory stores, or fast fashion brands like Shein, Forever21, Charlotte Russe and others. We accept limited items from brands like Old Navy, Ann Taylor, GAP, Banana Republic & J. Crew. 

    Our customer's preferences are our guide for what we can accept. You may have a perfectly nice piece that we can't take because we know what is likely to sell. It's not personal :)

  • Consigners earn 35% of the selling price; 50% for luxury items over $200.

  • We do not operate with strict consignment periods. Instead, we leave your goods for sale at full price for 60 days, after that we will move your goods through our clearance process. You will earn your percentage no matter if the item sells at full price or on clearance.

  • Drops offs are first come, first served Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. You may bring in up to 15 items per appointment, neatly folded in a shopping bag or box (no trash bags). We will go through those 15 items as soon as possible (hopefully right then) and accept what we think will sell.

  • Prices are set at the sole discretion of Fashion Consignment Studio. We always price competitively so the consignor can earn the most money possible and buyers walk away with a great deal.

  • All earnings will automatically be added to your consignor account. You may use these funds to shop in-store or request a payment at any time.

  • Brands that we know well and are confident in their authenticity generally do not get authenticated right away. We are happy to have any luxury brand goods authenticated at a shopper's request. We do authenticate brands we are not as familiar with. We cannot sell replica or fake designer goods.

  • We attempt to sell all goods at full price within 60 days. If items do not sell within 60 days, we attempt to sell them in the next big quarterly blow-out clearance. Should you have items that remain unsold after the clearance sale we will donate the lower priced pieces, and contact you to return anything that is more high-end. If unsold items are not picked up within 10 days of notification, we will donate them.
